hey oni noni

"what up with the lack of posts of late?" you ask.

well kids, i have been a bit "off" of late.  like that expired pink guava and coconut fruit iceSmooze All Natural Fruit Ice, Coconut & Pink Guava, 22 Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4) i ate yesterday that made me really sick.  and i almost barfed up on the bx-12 select bus.

i am super duper extra tired and sort of out of it.  i have seasonal affective disorder (difficulty regulating my emotions as the sun leaves us for the winter).  i use light therapy and vitamin d3 treatment but i've been slacking with the former and i really need to step it up again.  there is too much to be done, and there is much time to do it in, but not if i am sleeping/sleepy all the time.  so, note to self, get on the ball!

i have some hopeful things on the book front, still looking for representation for my debut novel, Three.  hmm what else.  i got a billion new clothes from my bosses old clothes.  hand-me-downs are the best, especially as she works in fashion and many of them are new.

started working on my second novel, THE HOUSE THAT HUNGER BUILT again and i'm proud of how it is going so far.

alright loves i'm sleepy and it's cold.  time for cuddles in the blanket with dittocat and i'll talk to you later. oh and tonight my room smells like bacon.

Things I Love Thursday :) TILT TIME!

1. my papa and my mom.  my dad always has my back, no matter what i do.  and he is my #1 fan.  and my mom is so sweet.  when she heard my fridge died she wanted to buy me another one, even though she can't afford it.  fortunately Brian fixed it.  Oh and when I was very sick both of them called me a lot to take care of me!!

2. CalorieCount
I've used this free and relatively easy-to-use website for years.  Last time I was using it religiously I was able to drop fifty pounds and keep track of all my nutrients and minerals.  This time I'm using it to drop ten and I started yesterday and I've already dropped weight!  By using math, graphs, and clear displays I'm able to track what I need to reach my goals without succumbing to "magical thinking" or other unhealthy thought patterns.

3. My garden!!  It is a bit decimated (I like that word, decimate technically means to kill every tenth man) but it still produces.  I decided to put up some basil today.  I upcycled a few things round the house and it came out quite nice.  I think I will give one to my friends for their housewarming.  Or maybe I will give them a plant of basil I don't know.  But it's nice to have on hand.
and yes, I have my own pinking shears.  My apartment is a wonderland of stuff like that.

5. My knee being better and my lil sister for helping me find out what kind of exercises to do to stop it from happening again.  She's in physical therapy school and she's a single mom and she's amazing :)  I love her so much.  She is very positive and fit and energetic and hardworking,  She inspires me.

6. Oh and MIR MIR!!  my sister is the best she brought me soup and is helping me with my career.  she always makes time to talk with me, whether it is something important or I just need directions to the nearest Bank Of America ATM. (I don't have a SmartPhone so i just call my SmartSis).  And we are going to go to Spa Castle for my birthday!!!!!!!  which is november 2nd and don't you forget it.  Buy me presents from the amazon wishlist that is linked somewhere on the right-hand column of this page, or from somewheres else, or not :)

garden growing wild

GOOD NEWS GUYS!  i get to stay in my apartment.  came to an agreement with the landlord, very reasonable rent.  this is nice and relives a buncha stress for brian and i.  here's some more pics of the garden.  we have basil, tomato, catnip, oregano and strawberry plants.

in other news, i'm making great progress with my novel, three, and expect it to be completely done with my second and final round of edits by the close of the month.

other important things to do this month include: work, attend doctor's appointments as scheduled, read more literature and less trash, clean my room, attend kickboxing more often, wake up earlier and go to bed earlier and what else?  who knows.  it'll come to me.

tonight i'm having dinner with mir-mir at ATHNOS in manhattan.  It's restaurant week and it should be just lovely.  i'll let ya'll know what I think of it.

i really need to shower.  i should also do laundry but i'm not sure there is time.  i have an appointment at 5:45 near fordham plaza and i best get my things together and do my edits for the day.  i already did my exercise to the tune of 5k of running and 5k of biking.  the latter was much easierthan the former!!

HAPPY ONE HUNDREDTH POST!  hundredth was hard to spell.

it's party time over here at one and oni!  and how will we celebrate?

well perhaps the time for celebration has past, as i have been lazy in my bed all morning and now it is 1:39pm.  so maybe the best way to celebrate is by being productive!!

GO TO THE GYM RIGHT NOW!
Don't WANNA
TOUGH NOOGIES!!

ok so gym for running and lifting, then shower, then lunch, then work on the book, which is now 244 pages long double-spaced and super awesome. We are in our final editing push with only 70 or so pages left to go so let's just f***ing finish the thing and make millions or fail.
Or do something in between (that's what i'm hoping for!!)

ok my ready readers.  i love you all for reading.  be sure to "follow" and comment on my blog because it makes me oh so happy :)

cape cod

vacationing with the momster and my brother lank.  good trip so far except my mama's sick. we are staying in a cute little cabin which totally reminds of the cottage i lived in with MR. PRVRT.  Is a good remembrance of a mostly good time.

today lank and i went bike riding from here (Eastham) to Marconi Beach'Marconi Beach Cliff', Limited Edition Photograph, Home Decor Artwork which is kind of very very gorgeous.  We rented bikes from the Orleans bike shop biked about 30 kilometers today and swam in the ocean.  Now I am going to do some work on my book.

idle/idol/idyll

evening greetings my dears.  you find me at an old haunt, the new school building over on 12th street.  i come here every thursday for my writing group and tonight i decided to stay on, after stopping at Murray's Bagels for a hot chocolate.  I highly recommend their bagels, but I do caution that the coffee is a much better choice than the hot chocolate, which is way too sweet.

i'm in some sort of waiting room on the third floor on the 11th street side of the new school building.  between the two sides there is a bridged walkway over the courtyard and tonight there seems to be some sort of lovely sound/art installation.  spent a few lovely moments in that diversion.  there are pieces of paper there and paintbrushes and jars of water.  i dipped the paintbrushes in the water and then drew on the paper, and then my drawings evaporated.
I like this waiting room. it is very quiet here.  ut-oh my cell phone made the sad bledoop sound that means low battery.  woops.

i'm working on my book.  i don't think the title will be staying the same.  it is called Three.  but i am not sure what it will be called ultimately.

i get to hand out with my friend dann tonight, which is very cool.  he's a smart fellow and i enjoy his company.  strong wit and very upbeat personality.

my firescape/window garden is growing strong with healthy and happy basil, tomato, and golden oregano plants.  the strawberries have yet to sprout and that's troublesome.  The kit I bought only came with ten seeds.   When I set out little seed pots of anything to germinate I like to fill up at least half a tray, lots more plants then ten because how likely is it that ten seeds are all going to come to fruition?  I think that was mad cheap of the buzzy seeds kit people

ok what just happened to my html to make this part in italics!  how annoying.  i really should learn how to script better instead of being lazy and relying on all this intuitive easy-pie blogging software because when it messes up I don't know how to fix it.

ok maybe I figured it out now... ha. whatever.
alright almost time to get back to work.  but first some pictures.

rathouse from an empty lot by the bar

my bosses (emily and vladimir)  i like them :)

ok that's neough bye bye
