TILT!

i'm loving a lot of things this week.
  • Helpful clerical personnel.  Shout out to Michelle at the Registrar's Office at the New School for hooking me up with super-fast turnaround on that official transcript request.  You saved my butt and you didn't even give me crap about that fact I had months to take care of it but put it off until the day before.
  • My big sister Miriam for post-midnight telephone consultation during crisis and for yummy sushi.   And the city of Philadelphia for having the best sushi roll for yummy bagel-and-lox from the Orient flavor.
  • Reading with my girls.  I'm getting to explore the next generation of Children's and Tween literature and I'm really loving it!  Junie B. Jones, Fancy Nancy, Pinkalicious, FreckleFace Strawberry, all that :)

  • halloweenie!! i got to make pumpkins with the girls which was awesome and also i am having a halloween-themed birthday party. very excited!!

ok i gotta go to the gym real quick then shower and edits for the ponies and head to manhattan :)

other things i love: that i can now almost do "dips" on the captains chair at the gym, my new sweaters, cantaloupe,  that light therapy exists to help me with S.A.D., dittocat, ECA STACK, unlimited Metrocards, cheap costume jewelry and hairbands, really good salad, homegrown herbs and tomatoes, and KEFIR.

good and grand

this is grand:  instant fun

fun is fun.  today was fun too!  well first of all today was tired because i didn't get home from babysitting until like 12:30pm last night and then i had to get on a train and a shuttle bus and train and the greyhound bus and then come to albany.  Please note that greyhound totally SUCKS!  they sold me an e-ticket, and i selected to print it out, and it was supposed to come in my email, but it never did, and they said i  but it was worth it because i got to hang out with LILY! last night and she is awesome.

why did i go through all this traveling and waking up early and whatnot?  because TODAY is GRANDMA MURIEL'S 90th birthday!  my mom made an awesome cake, my cousin bethany made a neat slideshow of old pictures that made lotsa people cry, and I got to see all my paternal cousins( minus Ravi who was on his honeymoon and my brother Lank who is in Israel, and who I miss very much).  I had a fabulous time hanging out with the little people... my second cousin who i thought was my niece but anyway Ravi's daughter Kohana who is beautiful and sweet and who kept saying "hi" over and over to me, Annika (my precious niece who i love to bits and pieces)  and Nathan, who was instrumental in keeping the girls entertained and who is a little gentleman who held the door for me.  It was a fabulous day and I loved it.

My sister Kara came to me with a paraplegic infant squirrel problem which I was able to solve for her with minimal difficulty.  Big thanks to my beloved Papa for the assist.

awesome pictures i stole from my sister mirmir!

Are my cousins gorgeous or what?

I ate a salad with chicken. It was awesome.  Annika stole lots of chicken from me, but I love her so it's ok.  I also stole some of her chicken fingers so we are even.
Man I love my family :)

last night i fell down and hit my head. today i slept all day. this weekend was very strange. i went to a party and fell for this beautiful young girl, pre-med at fordham. i am trying to wait until wednesday to write to her. she plays the basoon and she's reading the same novel as me which is house of leaves House of Leaves). i never met a girl who was reading or had read that.then saturday morning i got up andhopped on the train to manhattan and then the amtrak to rhinebeck. there i saw my nana and she taught me to make kefir http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kefir. she's starting to lose her memory so it was really cool that she was able to teach me and my sister something she knew and we didn't. she's been making kefir from the same started strain for thirty years! and now my sister and i are both making it. i am experimenting with different milks. my nana uses 2%. so far i've tried 1% regular milk,1% organic, and 2% regular. the organic was the best flavor so far. after visiting with nana (we took her out for pizza and sh said she hadn't had pizza in eight years and it was such a hoot!) i tried to get a train home to nyc but it was sold out. so my sister convinced me to stay with her and she would drive me to albany and ic ould see my dad before heading back to the city monday morning. so we went to see my mama's grave, and pop-pop too. we put little stones on the graves and cried and prayed together. i love my sister very much. then we went back to rhinebeck (my mom is buried in redhook) and we went to an awesome restaurant there called http://www.terrapinrestaurant.com which was so beautiful and lovely and the food was delicious! i had organic free range chicken breast with pesto mozzerella tomato on a ciabbata bread.then we went to albany and i went to my dada's house. i had a good night talking with my dad about god and death and life and getitng married and having babies and other stuff ... then i went to sleep. i love my dad very much. he has always been there for me, when i really needed him, at least since my adolescence into adulthood.\

why helllllllllloooooo there

ohio.  today was pretty ok.  i spent the morning with my nieces, annika and maggie.  i like them kiddoodles a whole heck of a lot.  also spent some time with the momster, then came over here to my pop's house.  i went to dinner with my sister and her in laws, papa, my brother lank and papa's friend regina.  we went to the macaroni grill and that place was kind of suck.  some little girls were talking to me and they tried to give me a hair ribbon.   when i was in the bathroom they were whispering to each other by the sinks "hey the girl voice lady is here!"

now i'm drinking Harvest Moon Pumpkin Ale.  It is sawwwwwweeeeeet.  I vote pumkin ale for president!!

In other news... i got a bikini in the mail.  soon as i get the body to go in it i will post better pics.

i also got a wee little haircut. if you are in east greenbush, ny and you need a haircut you should go see richard at supercuts in the target plaza.  target plaza is actually in north greenbush i believe, to be more exact.  richard works there on saturdays... and maybe other days but i don't know.   i did a buttload of laundry as well.

ok bye :)
thanks for the support

morning dahlinks

i slept through the night!!  a first since this wretched cold took me.  i'm watching a scary movie with brian.  it  is very silly.  today i get to see my papa.  i'm meeting him at the hyatt by grand central, then we get to eat fancy dinner, then i go to my writing group at the tea spot in the west village.  kelly invited me to lemongrass for karaoke, but i think i might be too sick and broke to go.  we shall see.  the exciting news is i get my laptop back when i see my father.  this will give me access to a wealth of material to make this blog even more lovely and exciting than it already is.
